Dental Assisting Training & Learning
At STL Dental Assisting School in St. Louis, Missouri, our 8-week program blends classroom lessons, lab practice, and real clinical experience inside a working dental office. Designed for beginners, the curriculum is fast, focused, and hands-on so you graduate confident and job-ready.
What you’ll learn
Chairside Assisting: Four-handed dentistry, instrument passing, isolation, procedure flow (fillings, crowns, extractions).
Radiography (X-Rays): Positioning, exposure, radiation safety, and image evaluation (RHS prep).
Infection Control & Sterilization: OSHA/HIPAA, operatory turnover, instrument processing.
Dental Materials & Impressions: Alginate, model pouring, cements, restorative materials.
Dental Anatomy, Charting & Records: Tooth surfaces, notation systems, treatment charting.
Front Office & Software: Scheduling, patient communication, insurance basics, practice software.
Professionalism & Patient Care: Vital signs, medical histories, chairside communication.
CPR/BLS & Emergencies: Preparedness and response for common in-office events.
You’ll complete a supervised externship with local partner practices and receive career support (resume help, interview coaching, and job leads). Graduates earn a diploma and are prepared to sit for relevant DANB exams where required.
